SERVICE AT THE MISSION SINCE
Original: November 2009

I was born with spina bifida, but God miraculously cured me from that when I was a baby. I grew up in Omaha in a Christian family, raised both in the church and at a Christian school. I accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and later believed that God was calling me to the ministry.
After high school, I volunteered in several ministries at my church in Omaha as well as the Kansas City area when I went to college there.
I received my B.A. in Christian Ministry with an emphasis in Christian Education from Midwestern Baptist College (now Spurgeon College) in Kansas City. I was led to the Norfolk Rescue Mission in 2009 and stayed until 2016. When I got married, we moved back to the Omaha area for a year. I then felt that God was leading us back to the Norfolk Rescue Mission.
My wife, Roseann, and I moved to Norfolk so I could once again begin working at the Norfolk Rescue Mission in October of 2017. We bought our first home in 2018 where we live with our cat that is bigger than a small child.
I work in Men's Ministry as an Evening Chaplain.
I learned early on that I should not allow time for questions in chapel. As I finished reading the passage about Cain and Abel, one man looked at me and asked, straight-faced, where Cain hid the gun that he used.
